COMMINGES PALAIS ROYAL N°62 (PARIS)

France, circa 1820

Very fine quality French Empire mahogany veneered eight day portico clock. Two train movement, countwheel striking the hour and half-hour on a bell. Gridiron pendulum (temperature-compensated pendulum) on a knife edge suspension. Mahogany case supported by four columns and mounted with finely incised mercury gilt bronze mounts. Dial made of finely incised mercury gilt bronze and an outer enamel disc with black roman numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands with a sweep second.


The enamel dial is signed "Comminges Palais Royal N°62"
